About the SIG:

The Registry and Records SIG is a space for colleagues working in student records and registry roles to connect.

This SIG is a platform for those in student records roles, covering everything from enrolment to graduation alongside wider registry roles including assessment and data quality. Acknowledging the difference in structures at HEIs some of the areas that this SIG covers are as follows:
• Enrolment, re-enrolment and registration
• Reporting to Student Finance
• Change of circumstances (withdrawals, suspensions, change of module/programme)
• Graduation
• Certificates, transcripts and documents
• Assessment and awards
• Data returns

Purpose:

The purpose of the SIG is to provide a specialised network of like-minded colleagues and provide this community with opportunities for personal and professional development in line with the professional framework.

This will be delivered through informal meetups and opportunities to share specific challenges with peers, as well as informal mentoring.

As the Deputy Coordinator of the Registry and Records SIG, you will be involved in making arrangements for digital networking meetings, identifying themes and topics for conversation or exploration, and generating ideas for how to strengthen and amplify the skills and contributions of our SIG members within their own organisations and AHEP.

Key Responsibilities:

– Knowledge Sharing: Facilitate the exchange of ideas, resources, and best practices among SIG members, contributing to a collective pool of expertise.

– Community Building: Cultivate a sense of belonging for SIG members, creating a supportive network for those developing and building their knowledge and skills in education administration and management.

– Logistical Support: working with the SIG Lead Coordinator to arrange digital meetups, providing event support and follow up actions.

Requirements:

– Experience of education administration and/or management within the higher education sector, ideally within current role.

– Strong organisational and leadership skills.

– Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders

– Excellent and varied communication and advocacy skills

– Whilst not a requirement, we would like to encourage applications from colleagues in assessment, data or quality roles.
