About the SIG:

The Education Administration and Management SIG is designed for staff who are responsible for and interested in the work which goes on to support delivery of all types of education in our institutions, up to and including senior level managers who are interested in the development and strategic operation of education portfolios. Education covers a huge variety of teaching and learning activities taking place in HEIs and associated organisations, from the very earliest stages of engagement with HE, through to Undergraduate and Postgraduate credit-bearing teaching, to executive education, Continuing Professional Development and other more modular forms of learning.

Purpose:

The purpose of the SIG is to open up dialogues around this very specific area of work, to surface issues which might benefit from collective solutions, and to reinforce the specialist professional skills required to effectively deliver excellent learning and teaching outcomes.

This will be delivered through informal meetups and opportunities to share specific challenges with peers, as well as informal mentoring.

As the Deputy Coordinator of the Education Administration and Management SIG, you will be involved in making arrangements for digital and local network networking meetings, identifying themes and topics for conversation or exploration, and generating ideas for how to strengthen and amplify the skills and contributions of our SIG members within their own organisations and AHEP.

Key Responsibilities:

– Knowledge Sharing: Facilitate the exchange of ideas, resources, and best practices among SIG members, contributing to a collective pool of expertise.

– Community Building: Cultivate a sense of belonging for SIG members, creating a supportive network for those developing and building their knowledge and skills in education administration and management.

– Logistical Support: working with the SIG Lead Coordinator to arrange national and local digital meetups, providing event support and follow up actions.

Requirements:

– Experience of education administration and/or management within the higher education sector, ideally within current role.

– Strong organisational and leadership skills.

– Ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders

– Excellent and varied communication and advocacy skills
