LGBT+ History Month 2024

AHEP proudly supports and celebrates the LGBT+ community.

We celebrate and value the diversity of our higher education community and recognise the unique contribution that every individual brings. We are committed to actively championing an inclusive professional culture, where equality and diversity is promoted and valued, and the rights and dignity of all are respected.

February is LGBT+ History Month, and this year, the theme is ‘Medicine – #UnderTheScope‘. The 2024 theme celebrates LGBT+ peoples’ contribution to the field of Medicine and Healthcare both historically and today. LGBT+ History Month is an opportunity to reflect on how far we’ve come in higher education and how we can renew our actions to create an equitable higher education experience for everyone.

On this webpage, you can learn more about the LGBT+ equality movement by exploring our links to resources and national events throughout the year. We want to celebrate the diversity of our membership and beyond so if you would like to share your story as an LGBT+ professional in HE, email us at: dev.monthly@ahep.ac.uk!
