In this 60-minute webinar, leadership coaches Dr. George Watts and Laurie Blazek discuss key concepts found in their book “Becoming a Strategic Leader: Capitalize on the Power of Your Personality” published in 2024 by The American Psychological Association.
The authors will present TLT Coaching’s principals, an outline of the book, the big five personality theory and it’s overlay on their proprietary “Strategic Transacting Model. The model visually depicts how an individual adds unique strategic value to their organization and how companies successfully transact. This session will also break down our definition of strategic leadership with time for a Q&A towards the end of the session.

About George
George W. Watts is a nationally recognized author, behavioral scientist, and senior executive. His passion is to inspire people to believe in themselves by maturing their natural personality strengths. George is a frequent speaker and delivers acclaimed training programs throughout the world. He coaches CEOs on how to build formidable leadership teams.
Thousands of people, at all levels of leadership, have experienced his approach and commitment to teaching his powerful principles of professional development. George started his career as a sales trainer and rapidly moved into senior management positions. George has been a CEO of a mid-cap publicly traded company, and EVP of two large service companies. He received his doctoral degree in Counseling Psychology from the College of William and Mary and is on the Foundation Board for Society for Psychologists in Leadership (SPL). He is a member of the APA. He is also a member of the Economic Club of Chicago.
George is the co-author of Becoming a Strategic Leader: Capitalize on the Power of Your Personality, published by the APA (2004) and co-creator of the TLT Coaching Program, a division of Top Line Talent, LLC. He has also written several books and numerous professional articles on leadership and talent management. He was awarded the Distinguished Psychologist in Leadership in 2025.

About Laurie
Laurie has over twenty-five years of banking and leadership experience as a Managing & Executive Director for large multinational banks including JP Morgan, Citigroup and Bank of America. She has held senior positions in a wide variety of sectors including large corporate, asset-backed finance, middle market, private banking and financial advising. As a banker, she built deep client relationships and drove financial transactions that expanded complex business models.
Laurie received an MBA, with a concentration in Finance, from DePaul University and a BS in Business from Illinois State University. She holds a Certified Financial Planner™ designation.
Laurie is co-creator of the TLT Coaching program and co-author of the new book, Becoming a Strategic Leader: Capitalize on the Power of Your Personality (published by the American Psychological Association, APA 2024). Laurie has co-authored numerous professional published articles on leadership and talent management. Laurie and Dr. George Watts have traveled globally to deliver leadership development programs. Her passion is helping people develop personal branding statements and turn strengths into action.
