Walk in the footsteps of your favourite TV show characters…
Royal Holloway AHEP Ambassadors, Clare and Moya, are thrilled to invite Anglia and London Network members to experience the charm and heritage of their institution, Royal Holloway, University of London (RHUL), nestled in the picturesque town of Egham, Surrey. Just a short distance from the majestic Windsor Great Park and easily accessible from London via a direct train from Waterloo, the stunning campus is steeped in history and natural beauty. You may have even recognized it on the big screen—its iconic grounds have featured in popular TV shows and films like Downton Abbey, Call the Midwife, The Split, and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
The afternoon will begin with a welcoming reception and light refreshments at the School of Law and Social Sciences, where attendees can mingle and network. Soon after, a guided tour of the beautiful Victorian gardens will be led by RHUL’s expert Head Gardener, Daniel. Following this, attendees will explore the renowned Founders Building Picture Gallery with insights from the Arts Collection team, before concluding the day with tea and coffee back at the School. There will be many chances to network and meeting other AHEP colleagues!
Royal Holloway College’s rich history dates back to 1886 when it was opened by Queen Victoria. In 1985, it merged with Bedford College in Central London, founded in 1849, to form what is now known today as Royal Holloway. There will be plenty of opportunities to learn about its past and how it continues to shape the future of students. For more information on its history and the Picture Gallery, visit Our history – your future and Art Collections, Archives and Exhibitions.
Come immerse yourself in the beauty, history, and culture of Royal Holloway—you won’t want to miss it!
