Mandy Edmond

Lead Consultant

Mandy Edmond (MA, FAHEP) is Vice Principal, Head of Quality and Standards and Registrar at Norland College, a position she has held for more than 12 years.  Within her department she manages Student Support and Wellbeing, Quality and Standards (including the academic governance processes), Library, Data and Student Records, and Admissions, and as Vice Principal, she has an overview of the entire organisation, including its in-house employment agency and consultancy and training divisions.

Prior to Norland, she worked as a Programme Director at a University and in 2 Further Education Colleges, meaning that she has experience of HE across a wide variety of providers.  She has spoken at numerous conferences and delivered workshops to HE colleagues on topics such as Student Engagement, Effective Use of Data, TEF 2023, NSS, and the DAPs Process . Her areas of expertise span across Professional Services, including policy, regulation, quality and standards, admissions and the entire student experience. 

At Norland, she leads on all external quality processes, resulting in the granting of degree awarding powers in 2019, TEF Gold across all categories in 2023 and outstanding NSS results.  She also supports Norland’s early childhood consultancy activity by offering expert advice on programme design, development and delivery for external clients, and the student experience, supporting international clients through their local validation and approval processes.  Recently, she has delivered Train the Trainer sessions for an international consultancy client and co-written a new early years curriculum for them. 

Alongside her Norland work, Mandy works with the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA) as a reviewer. With the QAA, she works across the UK and internationally to ensure that students experience the highest possible quality of education through quality reviews, inspections and consultancy.  She is also Chair of the Board at Innate Change, a company dedicated to supporting individuals, families and workplaces with neurodiversity.
