Applications now open for our Board of Trustees

Become a Trustee

Deadline: Monday 6 March 2017

Are you looking for new ways to help the HE sector move forward and bring about positive change? Ever wondered how you could advance your professional skills further, but never knew where to start?

The AUA might just have the perfect opportunity for you.

We are currently looking for two dedicated Trustees to represent the breadth and diversity of our members and to add value to the discussions and decisions of our board. Serving as a Trustee is a rewarding experience, as you will have a direct impact on how the AUA operates and also gain a new set of skills that will enhance your personal and professional development.

We are delighted to announce that applications are now open for two full term Trustee positions. Should you be chosen for the position, you will serve alongside other dynamic and like-minded individuals for 3 years, between 1 August 2017 and 31 July 2020.

 Your trustee duties

The AUA is an unincorporated charity and Trustees have, and must accept, ultimate responsibility for directing the affairs of the charity, ensuring that it is solvent and well-run, and delivering the charitable outcomes for the benefit of the public for which it was set up. For further information on what these areas of responsibility include, please see “The Essential Trustee” which is produced by the Charity Commission and can be viewed online.

What you need to become a Trustee

Trustees will be expected to contribute towards the full life and operation of the AUA. To do so, the Board has defined the following experience and skills which potential Trustees may be expected to possess.
