Welcoming our new Trustees

We are pleased to confirm the appointment of two new trustees who will serve on the Board for a three year term between 1 August 2017 and 31 July 2020.

Sara Corcoran first joined the AUA in 2001 and is currently Director of Human Resources at the University of Suffolk.

Sara will serve on the board until July 2020. She said of her appointment: “I’m really thrilled to have been invited to join and excited about getting involved with the AUA at a national level.  I think it’s really important that the sector’s professional services staff do have a voice, are recognised for the contribution they make to the sector and are supported in their continued professional development.  I hope that my involvement with the Board will add momentum to our efforts to raise the profile of the AUA”.

John Baker has been a member since 2007 and is currently Corporate and Business Planning Manager at London South Bank University.

Sam Bayley, Department Manager at the University of York was re-appointed for a second term.

“Between them our new Trustees bring fresh perspective and new skills and experience which will strengthen the Board’s ability to serve our members effectively.  I look forward to welcoming them to their first official meeting in October and working with them more closely.”

Kathryn Fowler, AUA Chair

We also extend a warm thank you to Hayley Simpson, Senior International Recruitment Manager, Royal Holloway University of London who stood down as a Trustee following her first term.
