This talk is by Richard Claughton, Heriot-Watt University’s Global Director of HR.

Richards’s talk covers his route to Heriot-Watt via a number of different sectors including Environment Agency and SEPA, the BBC, Banking and the University of Glasgow (not necessarily in that order)!  Richard will also provides an update on the implementation of Heriot Watt’s new ERP system. 

Talk by Fiona Armstrong – Heriot-Watt University session

This talk is by Dr Fiona Armstrong, Heriot-Watt University’s Global Director of Research Engagement.

Fiona’s talk covers her route to Heriot-Watt after working for research councils. Fiona worked for the Economic and Social Research Council (ESRC) before Heriot-Watt and led several projects to support the transition to UKRI (UK Research and Innovation). Fiona gives a brief update on the shape of research at Heriot-Watt and how things are changing in respect of research funding and her focus as Global Director of Research Engagement.

Talk by Paul Travill – Heriot-Watt University session

This talk is by Paul Travill, Global Academic Registrar at Heriot-Watt University.

Paul’s talk will cover his journey to Heriot-Watt via Edinburgh Napier and Wolverhampton and refer to his time as the Chair and Deputy Chair of the Academic Registrars Council.

AUA Strategy and Scotland – Heriot-Watt University session

In this session, the AUA’s Executive Director, Colin Ferguson shares his and the Board of Trustees vision for the new direction of a reinvigorated AUA with particular focus on Scotland.
