International Higher Education SIG

About the International HE SIG

The special interest group for International Higher Education provides networking and development opportunities for AHEP members with a professional interest in university internationalisation, broadly defined. The aim is to promote understanding of the global dimensions of UK higher education, and how our roles and responsibilities relate to the broader international developments shaping how our institutions operate.

The group offers opportunities to get involved in AHEP’s international work, including overseas Study Tours and other links with international partner organisations, providing members with unique development opportunities. Members bring a range of experience across international partnerships (education and research), student mobility, transnational education, curriculum internationalisation, international student support, international strategy and global engagement.

What can you expect from the International HE SIG?

– Support greater understanding of the international dimension of HE by promoting and encouraging opportunities for members based in the UK and Ireland to gain experiences in other countries

– Networking opportunities with a range of organisations and sources of expertise within and outside the HE sector

– A forum for members to discuss areas of shared interest around the international dimension in HE
