Date: Thursday, 24 October

About this session
With a higher education sector drive to increase diversity in institutions, there are still issues with reaching, attracting and retaining diverse talent for higher education providers. Recruitment plays a key role in directly impacting the diversity of an organisation. This workshop creates a space for delegates to reconsider recruitment practices with EDI in mind.
Why attend?
Attending this session will offer you an opportunity to learn, reflect and discuss ways in which an equality, diversity and inclusion mindset can enable better quality recruitment processes and practices.
The session aims to inform and inspire colleagues in making recruitment processes more inclusive and in general, encouraging a better candidate experience. The session will achieve this both by emphasising the value of diversity in the staff body of HEIs, and providing clear recommendations from practice about how to ensure recruitment processes can easily be made more dynamic and inclusive, leading to better quality recruitment decisions and experiences for all.
What you will do?
The session will include a Keynote Lightning Talk from a EDI expert, presentation on ‘good behaviours’ in interviews, and action-oriented discussions to embed inclusive recruitment and share practice.
Learning Outcomes:
By the end of this session, delegates will be able to:
1. Enhance understanding of what makes recruitment practices and processes inclusive
2. Identify opportunities to champion good interview behaviours
3. Share inclusive recruitment practices with each other
