About this session

This workshop series will take place over three online webinar sessions and will equip you with the necessary information, resources, and know-how to improve your approach to writing and updating your CV, doing job interviews and building your personal brand.

Why attend?

First impressions count. A good CV can open doors to opportunities. Yet many people struggle to create a good CV. It takes time and effort and as busy people it’s tempting to cut corners and save time by simply re-hashing an old version.

This session will clarify what makes the difference between a good and a bad CV. You’ll learn how to create a strong CV which can make the difference between a place on the ‘yes’ pile and the shredder.

You’ll understand the importance of how to tailor your CV to specific opportunities. You will learn that it’s as important to know what to leave out as well as what to include.

You’ll find out how to format your CV in order to create a strong visual impression with a document that’s easy to read.

You’ll also pick up some tips on how to harness AI to improve your document.

By appreciating the conventions of what creates a good CV,  you’ll be able to improve your existing document each time you need to refresh it.

What you will do:

In this 75 minute webinar, delegates will hear from an experienced careers professional who will share advice and practical tips to help you improve your CV writing. There will be an opportunity to ask the facilitator questions and share advice and tips with peers in the group.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to:

1. Recognise how to create a strong CV

2. Describe and present their transferable skills

3. Recognise how AI tools can support the CV writing process
