Call for expressions of interest to be co-opted to a Short Life Working Group to review AUA values

The AUA Board has decided that it is timely to review the AUA values and is establishing a Short Life Working Group (SLWG) to do this.

Why are we doing this?

The purpose of the working group is to review how far the AUA’s values, last formally reviewed in 2009, are still relevant and appropriate for the Association and membership today. Following this analysis, the group would move on to make recommendations to the Board for any changes.

Who will take part?

The SLWG will consist of two Trustees, five co-opted members of the AUA who are not Trustees and two members of staff from the AUA Office. The group will conduct business primarily through e-mail, phone and electronic conferencing keeping face-to-face meetings to a minimum.

What is the timeline?

Final terms of reference and timescale are to be agreed at a Board meeting on 5 February 2018. The outcome of this work will be to make recommendations to the AUA Board.

We are now inviting expressions of interest from the AUA membership to be co-opted as members of the SLWG.  Expression of interests are welcome from all members regardless of length of service or seniority.

How can I get involved?

The group will be convened by Mark Crittenden, AUA Trustee.

Expressions of interest should be made via email to by 26 January 2018 and should consist of a brief CV and a short paragraph which outlines your suitability for the role to Amanda.ShiltonGodwin@aua.ac.uk Head of Professional Development AUA.

Informal enquiries can be made to either Mark or Amanda.
