Andrew Dawson

Andrew trained as an accountant whilst working in public sector audit, and took his first job in higher education as a Management Accountant immediately upon gaining CIPFA qualification in 2009.  Before setting up his own business, Andrew worked as a Deputy Finance Director, Head of Management Accounts, Head of International Finance and Faculty Finance Manager,  and has run the financial elements of a major institutional change programme for a large university.  In addition to this, he has worked in the NHS overseeing education and training budgets for Scotland, and in independent schools as a Director of Finance. 

Andrew has particular strengths in developing flexible financial models to allow non-financial colleagues to evaluate options; in long-term change processes, including the impact of staffing changes and student number development; and in maximising income streams for complex institutions.  Whilst supporting education has been a passion throughout his career, Andrew has benefitted from working in a number of related sectors as well as in higher education and enjoys considering a broad range of solutions to any issue.
