Opportunity to join the Student Experience and Engagement Coordinator team
As our Special Interest Group continues to expand in terms of membership numbers and depth of provision for our members, we are looking for a new Deputy Coordinator to join our team.
All members of the SIG Coordinator team share out responsibilities, but some of the exciting initiatives that we would be looking for your help to run include:
– Running a regular interview series to celebrate and showcase members’ work
– Developing new approaches to showcasing the successes and innovative practices of our members within regular email updates and social media
– Introducing a new buddying / action learning set scheme for SIG members
– Connecting together SIG members who are conducting scholarship / research into different areas of student experience and engagement, and encouraging them to submit articles for publication.
In addition to the above, all members of the SIG Coordinator team work collaboratively to plan activities for members. We would love to hear from potential candidates about their ideas to enhance the value our SIG provides for Association members.
Want to find out more about this SIG? Please access the Student Experience and Engagement webpage.

– Experience in promoting, organising and facilitating events (especially online)
– Experience running action learning sets / buddying schemes (either for students or staff or in non-HE contexts)
– Experience running projects and initiatives outside of your own institution (or across multiple universities)
– Experience in researching and publishing on topics related to student experience and engagement practice.
We also especially encourage applications from candidates who:
– Have experience in areas of student experience and engagement work that are different from those already covered by the existing SIG Coordinator team
– Are based geographically outside of London and the South East of England
– May be from underrepresented communities to join our team as we are committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive environment
– Are relatively new to working within the field of Student Experience and Engagement.
