Dr Tom Tatchell

Lead Consultant

Dr Tom Tatchell is a higher education professional with over 20 years’ experience spanning academic leadership, curriculum development, and strategic change. He holds a BSc and PhD in Chemistry, as well as an Executive MBA from Cardiff University, and is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy.

Much of Tom’s career has been based at Cardiff University, where he led student recruitment, curriculum design, programme revalidation, and initiatives to enhance the student experience. Over time, his focus has evolved through consultancy and coaching, supporting institutions to embed sustainability and inclusive practice into their strategies and operations.

Drawing on frameworks like the Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act and the UN SDGs, Tom helps individuals and teams navigate change, align their values with institutional goals, and build environments where students and staff can thrive.
