About this session
The AHEP Governance Special Interest Group (SIG) invites you to an online panel discussion that cuts through the high-level theory of the Dundee/Gillies reports to focus on the reality of your day-to-day role.
While many previous events have focused on the perspective of senior leaders and governors, this session is designed specifically for governance professionals at every level. As governance professionals, you are often the first line of defence in ensuring institutional integrity, frequently requiring you to navigate complex dynamics and “speak truth to power.” Don’t miss this opportunity to move beyond the “what” of governance and master the “how” of effective, courageous professional practice.
What to Expect
This session is designed to equip you with the confidence and knowledge to:
-Navigate Financial Governance: Demystify the financial aspects of the Dundee/Gillies findings and how they led to governance failure.
-Engage in Brave Discussions: Learn strategies for pushing back and challenging decisions internally, even when dealing with those more senior than yourself.
-Bridge the Gap: Understand how to translate high-level governance requirements into actionable oversight within your HEI.
Who can attend?
This event is open to Governance SIG members, Scotland Geographic Network and AHEP members at associate level and above. If you are not yet a member of the Governance SIG, you can join by completing the ‘Become a Member’ form. Please note, SIG membership is only open to AHEP members.
We look forward to welcoming you to this event.
